NCSA 2nd badminton tournament underway

A two day long 2nd badminton tournament of Nagaland Civil Service Association (NCSA) got underway here today at Indoor Stadium.
Motsuthung Lotha, commissioner & secretary parliamentary affairs Nagaland declared the tournament open.
Speaking on the occasion, Motsuthung said that badminton requires strength as well as mental capabilities.
To play the sports we need basic skills but to achieve all its benefits it requires a lot of practice, dedication and determination, he said.
He also added that sports not only keep us in good health but also build our confidence and leadership.
Altogether 28 teams from all the districts are participating in the two-day tournament.
Vekusheyi Rhakho administered oath to the participants.
The inaugural function was chaired by Imtimenla.
The tournament featured men’s doubles and mixed doubles.
Meanwhile, the closing function will take place on March 4 at 3:00 PM.
Sarah R. Ritse, commissioner and secretary social welfare will grace the function and give away prize to the winners.
The function will be chaired by Hiazu Meru. Tournament report will be given by badminton committee convenor Wonchio Odyuo.
Vote of thanks will be proposed by Shaying Shiu.
