NCSU appeals CM to meet pending bills

Kohima, July 4 (MExN): Issues concerning pending or unpaid bills of the Nagaland government to suppliers and contractors has resurfaced with the latter appealing to the chief minister to release money due to them.  The Nagaland Contractors & Suppliers Union (NCSU) issued a copy of a letter addressed to the chief minister of Nagaland, today, appealing for immediate release of pending bills to NCSU members. The NCSU said to have petitioned the chief minister about the matter when he was attending as chief guest of the 37th anniversary of the union on February 10 in Kohima. The union had appealed that pending bills ‘in favour of NCSU under PWD (R&B), (Housing) & PHED’ be released.

“Accordingly all the union members are anxiously waiting for release of payment. However there is no response till date from the government, hence the Union members have very much apprehension that more than 4,000 registered members are under pressure due to non release of payment,” the union’s letter stated. The letter was appended by the union’s president Pele Khezhie and general secretary John Kath. The organization has requested the chief minister to ‘intervene into the matter favorably’ and meet the pending bills without further delay.
