NCSU Head Office in ‘Dictator’ structure; says Dimapur contractors

DIMAPUR, FEB 5 (MExN): The Dimapur unit of NCSU has pointed its finger to the Kohima unit office of running the apex office of the NCSU by only a few contractors without any transparency. In a memorandum submitted by the Nagaland Contractors and Suppliers Union (NCSU) to the Chief Secretary, Government of Nagaland, received here today, the Dimapur unit called upon the authority to take serious note of the matter and urged that proper measures be taken to address the existing problems inorder to maintain the prestige and dignity of the Union.

The said memorandum submitted to the Chief Secretary raising several problems, stated that the contractors who have been holding the post of NCSU office has developed into a ‘heredity’ nature and has taken the form of dictatorship. “So far NCSU Kohima office has never sought the representatives from the district unit to conduct election of the apex body office bearers or for that matter or any other issues relating to the problems of district unit,” the memorandum stated.

The memorandum has also informed the authority that the head office at Kohima has been deducting 5% from the contractors’ bill as union fund but as of date no audit report has been given to the concern district units. They further stated the shock over the step taken by the head office in inducting Mapu Imchen as the care-taker of the Dimapur office rather then taking appropriate actions against him (Mapu Imchen). Mapu Imchen was the president of the Dimapur unit but was impeached by the members on the ground of misusing funds, not co-operating with the colleagues and for not submitting the audit report before the house despite several reminding letters.

The members also stated that till date the Dimapur unit has not been allowed by the apex body to conduct any election nor has intimated concerning various payments, which is, suppose to be released.
