NCSU holds co-ordination meeting with PWD New Engineer-in-Chief

Kohima, July 29 (MExN): The Nagaland Contractors' and Suppliers Union (NCSU) Head Office in Kohima held a co-ordination meeting today with the newly appointed Engineer-in-Chief (E-in-C) of the Nagaland Public Works Department (NPWD), Imna Meren Ao, in his official chamber.

During the meeting, NCSU President Pele Khezhie extended congratulations to Imna Meren Ao on behalf of the Union, expressing optimism that his leadership would greatly benefit the department, the contractors’ fraternity, and the general public.

The NCSU officials informed the Engineer-in-Chief about the resolution adopted at the Union's general meeting on July 7. The resolution calls for the total implementation of yearly work programs across all government departments in Nagaland and advocates for open tenders in all government establishments to ensure transparency, as per the government’s standing order.

Additionally, the Union appealed to the Engineer-in-Chief to consider genuine cases for new Class-1 government registrations, which are authenticated by the Union, to address the high unemployment rate among educated Naga youth with engineering and other technical backgrounds seeking new registrations.

The NCSU assured the NPWD of their full cooperation to ensure justice for the public and the contractor fraternity. In response, Engineer-in-Chief Shri Imna Meren Ao emphasized the importance of collaboration between the department and contractors to advance the development of Nagaland. He urged contractors to maintain high standards of workmanship and expressed appreciation for the NCSU officials' initiative in organizing the co-ordination meeting.
