Phek, October 18 (MExN): Reiterating its full-support to the Head Office, Kohima under the leadership of Pele Khezhie, the Nagaland Contractors & Suppliers Union (NCSU) Phek division resolved to monitor and check on all contract works under Phek District specially mega projects such as PMGSY and other centrally sponsored projects for ensuring quality works.
The Nagaland Contractors & Suppliers Union (NCSU) Phek division has re-affirmed to check and report all defaulting departments issuing work orders without floating NIT/ advertisements.
The division during its executive meeting held on October 12 at Kohima resolved to check on the Public Distribution System (PDS) under Directorate of Food & Civil Supplies to different outlets under Phek District as per district-wise allocation. “Quality and requisite quantity shall not be compromised at any cost and the Phek unit will see to it that such requisite specifications are adhered to,” NCSU, Phek division president Kuzhosheyi Alex and general secretary Razou Lohe stated in a press release.
It also stated that road connectivity being a key component for Rural Development; the Phek Unit hopes the department will deliver an all-weather road to these remote areas of the district through the recent PMGSY Project.
The Unit further requests the department to detail an Engineer/JE to be present at the site 24x7 until the work is executed satisfactorily. “Any anomalies or lapses on proper execution of work the contractor and the department shall be held accountable. In this connection, we urge upon stake holders to be vigilant and responsible towards these projects and intervene as and when necessary,” the Division stated.
Meanwhile, NCSU, Phek Unit also expressed shock and surprise over the construction anomalies of New DC Complex Phek. The construction work which began in 2008 had stalled due to reasons best known to the Department concerned. The Phek Unit urged the concerned agencies to expedite the investigation process and deliver justice to the people of Phek, District.
