Kohima, January 28 (MExN): The Nagaland Contractors’ and Suppliers’ Union (NCSU) has undertaken a social outreach programme on the occasion of the 77th Republic Day by visiting Bright Morning Star Children Home Kohima on January 26.

The NCSU team was led by Hoshito Assumi, Vice President, NCSU, who also graced the programme as the Speaker of the occasion, accompanied by six other NCSU officials.

The programme was chaired by Aleno Angami, Superintendent, Bright Morning Star Children Home. The delegation was warmly received by Abe Angami, Proprietor, along with 18 children residing at the Home.

The children presented the National Song “Vande Mataram,” which set a solemn and patriotic tone for the programme.

In his address, Hoshito Assumi encouraged the children to stay strong, humble in life and to remain obedient to their guardians and teachers.

He emphasized the importance of being sincere, honest, hardworking, and consistent in their studies.

He further advised the children not to envy luxurious lifestyles, stating that many individuals who live in luxury through corrupt practices do not last long either in age or in reputation. He urged the children to cultivate honesty and sincerity in life, aspire for a bright future, and prepare themselves to take over the responsibility of the State’s affairs in the future.

Later, NCSU donated rations to the Bright Morning Star Children Home as a gesture of support and solidarity, reaffirming its commitment to social responsibility and the welfare of children.

Assumi expressed heartfelt appreciation to Abe Angami and Aleno Angami, teachers and staffs for their selfless initiative in nurturing children and shaping the future of society.

He acknowledged that such dedication and service are no less than missionary work.

The programme concluded with interactions between the NCSU members and the children, reaffirming the Union’s commitment to nation-building, community service, and humanitarian values.
