DIMAPUR: The next hearing on the Public Interest Litigation (PIL) filed by the Nagaland Doctors Association (NDA) challenging the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Government of Nagaland and the Emmanuel Hospital Association (EAH) in regard to the Referral Hospital is to be taken up tomorrow. According to latest information, the reason the earlier adjournment was attributed to the transfer of Chief Justice BK Roy from the Guwahati High Court.
It must be mentioned that till now nothing conclusive has been reached from the last four hearing on the aforementioned litigation. The first hearing on the case was held on July 22 wherein a stay order was passed till the second hearing which took place on July 28 where the Government of Nagaland filed for a vacation for stay order. However, the request was rejected by the High Court. The third hearing was held on August 11. Subsequently, the Government of Nagaland had requested the Court for more time and thereon, the High Court gave time till August 19. The next hearing was scheduled for August 30 which was also adjourned and rescheduled for September 29. However, there are reports that today’s hearing may also not go ahead because of the countrywide strike called by trade and employees union.
