Peren, May 23 (MExN): The Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party (NDPP) of 7 Peren Assembly Constituency has condemned the poster campaign of Samziuram Village Council "against the Chief Minister under the directive of TR Zeliang." A press release from Itwa, President and Hiareu, Secretary, NDPP 7-Peren A/C stated that some NPF party workers without knowing the actual situation publicized in various local media to tarnish the good image of Neiphiu Rio leadership and again targeted CM through poster campaign on May 22 and 23.
In this connection the NDPP 7-Peren Assembly Constituency clarified to the public that the SDRP fund meant for development of Samziuram Village was never diverted, however, it was halted by the government in view of the fact that TR Zeliang had attempted to withdraw the fund by producing false completion certificate stating that 90% of the work done, the release added. The release also added that village council members resorted to diverse allegation by fooling the villagers. The statement maintained that the Village Council Chairman and GBs being a government approved agency should uphold government decisions and should not indulge in unlawful activities that contradict the integrity of the government. Samziuram Village Council should be dissolved for going against the government and at the same time Hintung be terminated from the post of GB, the release added.
The Samziuram villagers are appealed to stay calm and steadfastly uphold the truth by not succumbing to vested interest leaders who create false propaganda to misguide the innocent villagers with an ill motive to accumulate easy money. Consequently, the concern authority is herby requested to immediately take up stringent action as cited above for smooth functioning of the village and to meaningfully execute developmental work whatever is sanctioned/approved by the government.
