NDPP Kohima sounds poll bugle; resolves to ‘work hard’ for party candidate

Kohima, September 29 (MExN): The Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party (NDPP) Kohima Region, on September 29, sounded the poll bugle for next state general election by resolving to “work hard for the election of its party candidate from all the six constituencies under Kohima.” 

The Kohima Region took the resolution during its consultative meeting held with Advisor for Urban Development and Municipal Affairs Dr Neikiesalie Nicky Kire at its office at Bayavü Hill on September 29, a press release informed. 

The party also resolved to tour all the six assembly constituencies in Kohima district and ‘vigorously’ pursue the party enrollment drive while also keeping the door open for like-minded people willing to join the NDPP party from any other political party.

Further, the NDPP Kohima Region also resolved to continue the Region’s support to the able leadership of Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio and the party President Chingwang Konyak, it said. 

Meanwhile, exhorting the gathering, Advisor Dr Nicky Kire, who is also legislator in-charge of Kohima Region, encouraged the party leaders and workers to remain steadfast to the Party and assured of all possible support to the Kohima region and its frontal organisations. 

He also urged them not to be superficial but to have a cohesive relationship for the welfare of the party in general.

Dr Kire also called upon them to start ground preparation for the 2023 state general elections and improve the prospects of the party in the six constituencies of the State capital by giving their best for the Party in general.

NDPP Central general secretary & in-charge of Kohima Region, Prasielie Pienyü said as a new political party in the State, NDPP is working towards a cadre-based Party to have a strong party base through mobilization, motivation and political training.

NDDP Kohima Region President Avio Tetseo said that while limited activities could be done in the last 2 years due to the COVID-19 pandemic, as 2023 election is fast approaching, party workers have to work hard to win all the seats under Kohima Region. 

He assured of all support and coordination from the Kohima Region leaders and workers towards the success of the party candidates.

Kohima Region Women Organization president Kekhrienuo Meyase and Youth Organization President M Patrick Kuotsu also asserted to to stand firm with the decisions and directives of the parent body, the release said. 

The Region Working President Keduolhoulie Huozha led the discussion hour and also presented the five point resolutions which were adopted unanimously, it added.
