Nagaland central youth organization of Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party (NDPP) today kicked start sanitation drive with the slogan ‘Clean Kohima.’
This programme, sponsored by Water & Sanitation Support Organisation (WSSO), PHED Nagaland, is part of ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’ to mark 75 years of India’s Independence.
Addressing the launching ceremony here at Old MLA hostel junction, Nagaland’s Industries & Commerce, Labour & Employment, Skill Development & Entrepreneurship advisor Imnatiba stressed on the need to maintain cleanliness and hygienic environment. He maintained that adherence to good hygiene practices can help slow down and prevent COVID-19 pandemic.
Imnatiba, who is also incharge of Nagaland central youth organization of NDPP party, thanked PHED Nagaland for supporting the effort of NDPP central youth in this sanitation drive.
NDPP central youth organization president Kelhouneizo Yhome said that the intention of this sanitation drive is to help build a healthy society and a robust environmental management. “We will carry forward this sanitation drive to the entire state,” Yhome said adding that the NDPP central youth will reach out to all the districts.
Next, it will focus Dimapur (Clean Dimapur), followed by Mokokchung (Clean Mokokchung and Tuensang (Clean Tuensang). By conducting such cleanliness drive across the state, we can bring a “Clean Nagaland,” he said. Further, he called upon each and every individual to join the movement to accomplish the distinction of “Clean Nagaland” by next year.
Thenusou Sekhose, HRD consultant, WSSO, PHED Nagaland also delivered a short speech. The function was led by Vichosel Rhiitso, NDPP central youth organization secretary, i/c Kohima youth region. Nagaland’s Urban Development & Municipal Affairs advisor Dr Neikiesalie (Nicky) Kire and Nagaland’s Youth Resources & Sports advisor Er Zale Neikha also present at the launching ceremony.
