Dimapur, August 16 (MExN): The 74th Independence Day was celebrated at the North Eastern Council, Shillong with traditional gaiety and national fervor on August 15.
The national tri-colour flag was unfurled and hoisted by the Member of the NEC Prof Biman Kr Dutta at the NEC’s premises followed up by the National Anthem, a DIPR report said.
Later, Prof Dutta, AIR Marshal Anjan Kumar Gogoi PVSM AVSM VSM (Retd.), Members of NEC & K. Moses Chalai,IAS Secretary , NEC briefly addressed the gathering while congratulating the staff of the NEC.
All the senior officials and the staff member while factoring in precautions related to the COVID-19 scenario took part in the function, the report said.
