NEDF members releasing their manifesto on February 18.
Dimapur, February 19 (MExN): The Northeast Democratic Front (NEDF), spearheaded by its president Lima Longkumer and official executive members, launched the party manifesto with the motto, ‘Power to the People” on February 18.
A press release from the party informed that delegates from Meghalaya and Assam units also attended the event.
The party’s motto emphasises on justice, unity, progress and development, it said, with objectives including sustaining private sector-led economic growth sectors and employing measures to uplift the economy and generate employment.
The party also pledged to ‘provide, reactive, rehabilitate and maintain infrastructure’ and encourage the establishment of small-scale, micro and cottage industries in rural areas.
The party also called for sustainable agriculture especially in the rural areas as well as advocated strengthening of women societies to make them more effective in the process of ensuring the empowerment of the women.
