Need for healthy competition for implementation of scholarship schemes

Directorate of School Education (DSE) Additional Director (HoD) Wonthungo Tsopoe today stressed on the need to evolve healthy competition for effective implementation of scholarship scheme including communitization and all spheres of activities.  

He maintained that healthy competition among the establishments of the department will go a long way in making the department a “vibrant department.”  

Token of appreciation was accorded to Zunheboto and Longleng districts as the best two performing districts on scholarship scheme during a sensitization cum orientation programme on centrally and state sponsor scholarship scheme held here today.  

Tsopoe said scholarship scheme is an important component as it attracts students and also help the poor parents to assist their children.  

Stating scholarship is part of encouragement towards quality education, he urged upon the officers to take extra mile in educating the people about the scheme and also wide coverage of the beneficiary.  

Also stating that the Govt of India is willingly giving scholarship facilities to facilitate our children, he stressed on the need to make the best use of it.  

He also called upon the officers to have a healthy deliberation on the area of difficulty in implementation and also the strength and weakness of the scholarship, only then they will be able to deliver justice to the people.  

Stating that transaction is now taking on different mode, i.e Direct Benefit Transfer, he however said that in remote areas there were no banking facilities for which something has to be done. He raised this issue to the Ministry of Human Resources Development recently.  

Highlighting the various scholarship schemes, Limadangit Jamir, assistant director/Nodal officer Scholarship DSE said that for effective implementation of scholarship scheme and to cover all the targeted beneficiary in the state, the department has conducted a block level sensitization programme last year and today’s programme is the second of its kind.  

This sensitization programme has been conducted to familiarize with the National Scholarship Portal (N SP2.0). Jamir stressed on the need to give utmost importance to children education and see that they are getting benefit all the schemes granted by the central and state government.  

Jangsem Tzudir, scholarship section DSE and Ziirhetho Nyuthe, special educator scholarship section DSE talked on “Procedure for implementation of CEAF/PMS-ST Student,” and “Procedure for implementation of PMS-Minority student” respectively.  

Sorhunii, scholarship section DSE chaired the inaugural function.
