
Kohima, March 9 (MExN): Two day training cum workshop on NeGPA application and services on March 9 and 10 at National Institute of Electronic and Information Technology was organised by the Department of Agriculture under National e-Governance Plan in Agriculture (NeGPA).
Nosezole Zao, Joint Director of Agriculture during her speech mentioned that the Government of India approved the centrally sponsored scheme NeGP-A during 2014-15 for Nagaland following which the Department of Agriculture officially launch it on July 29, 2015, and over the year of implementation the nodal department has setup sites and installation of Hardwares in 52 sites under Agriculture, Horticulture and Fisheries Department for service delivery to the farmers.
She stated that, NeGPA is a scheme which aims to address the needs of the farming community and its stakeholders, through provision of relevant information and services through the various delivery channels, at present the services that are currently available for farmers to get information can be availed through link www.farmer.gov.in.
This training cum workshop aims to upgrade the IT skills of the Officials and functionaries involve under NeGPA and called on all the participants to take advantage of this programme and to equip themselves with necessary IT skill and work towards the implementation of the programme. She called upon the participants present to learn and interact, to take this programme seriously and take advantage of NeGPA scheme for service delivery to the farmers.
A press note on the event stated that the resource person for two days training cum workshop programme is A Morimenba Amer, Dy Director/ Scientist 'C' and Alongla Aier Pr Consultant, SPMU-Nagaland. The inaugural programme was chaired by Letkholal Hangshing, Joint Director of Agriculture and programme Officer NeGPA and vote of thanks was proposed by Kitoho Michael Swu, Agriculture Officer. The participating department for two days training programme are Agriculture, Horticulture and Fisheries.
