Nagaland’s Tribal Affairs & Higher Education Minister Temjen Imna Along laid the rules and bye laws of Nagaland Eklavya Model Residential Schools (NEMRS) Management Society at the recently concluded 8th session of 13th Nagaland Legislative Assembly.
The objective of the society is to provide quality middle and high level education to ST students in remote areas, not only to enable them to avail of reservation in high and professional educational course and as jobs in government and public and private sectors but also to have access to the best opportunities in education at par with the non ST population.
The Governing Body will be headed by Administrative Head of the Department, Tribal Affairs, Nagaland as chairman and Head of the Department, Directorate of Tribal Affairs, Nagaland as members secretary.
The member includes; Administrative Head of Department, School Education, Nagaland, Administrative Head of Department, Health and Family Welfare, Nagaland, Additional Secretary/Joint Secretary, Tribal Affairs Nagaland and representative from the Ministry of Tribal Affairs.
