Dimapur, September 27 (MExN): NERIM Group of Institutions marked the arrival of their new batch of students with day-long ‘Welcome Meet-2023’ function on September 27.
The meet was opened with a welcome lecture by the Director, NERIM Group of Institutions, Prof (Dr) Sangeeta Tripathi.
On the occasion, former Registrar of NERIM Group of Institutions, Dr MC Bhuyan attended as the Chief Guest and delivered a lecture on the importance of new branches of study available in modern times. He also eulogized on the remarkable history of NERIM and expressed a desire to see NERIM as an Autonomous Institution in the near future.
Prof Abhijit Sharma from IIBM, who was an invited guest, enlightened the students with the idea that education is the way to approach God. He also admired NERIM for its history and position in the North East educational scenario.
The Registrar, NERIM Group of Institutions, Prof Deba Prasad Misra, in his speech drew an allusion to a Shakespearean quote from Hamlet which he related to students. He expressed the importance of being true to oneself. The day concluded with the distribution of awards to the student achievers who had brought laurels for NERIM in different areas.
