NESO warns defaulting NE states in Hindi-teacher appointment

Dimapur April 13 (MExN): The North East Students Organization, (NESO) taking serious cognizance that many states in the North East are not able to recruit and fill the sanctioned posts of Hindi teachers under grant by the Central government, had demanded that recruitment be done by various State public Commissions and in this regard also warned that the organization would make its own enquiry into the procedures involved.

The NESO maintained that many states are resorting to contract appointment/ad-hoc appointments which showed that “there is already a considerable amount of corruption involved in the appointments by way of favoritism, manipulations and nepotism during the selection of candidates” according to a statement issued by Dr Samujjal Bhattacharjya, Chairman and NSN Lotha, General Secretary.  The NESO reminded that the recruitment for the Hindi teachers under the central grants because of pay-scale provisions, comes under the purview of the State Public Commissions. “The NESO will be making its own enquiry into this procedure and any state found violating this procedure will be taken into (account) for future initiation of action with the Central government” the NESO warned.

In the light of the above, the NESO made a strong appeal to all the concern state departments in NE to immediately take initiative to recruit all the sanctioned posts of Hindi teachers as per the guidelines failing which the organization reiterated its warning that it would be compelled to take up the matter with the Central government for action against the defaulting state(s).
