MOKOKCHUNG, MAY 14 (MExN): The monthly meeting of Mokokchung District Planning and Development Board (DPDB)-cum-felicitation, and introduction of new DPDB Chairman Nuklutoshi and new Deputy Commissioner & Vice Chairman DPDB, Mokokchung Ajit Kumar Verma was held on May 14, at the DC’s Conference Hall, Mokokchung.
Speaker of the Nagaland Legislative Assembly and outgoing DPDB Chairman, Sharingain Longkumer, welcomed the new MLA and Chairman of Mokokchung DPDB, Nuklutoshi, and expressed gratitude to board members for their support during his tenure.
In his address, Nuklutoshi lauded the outgoing chairman for his exemplary service and assured members that he would do his best to contribute towards the district’s development. He also appealed for continued cooperation from all departments.
During the meeting, SDO (C) HQ, speaking on behalf of the district administration, pointed out that Mokokchung remains the only district in the state without a sardar jurisdiction, which is necessary for effective administration. Responding to this, Longkumer suggested the preparation of a comprehensive comparative report to ensure clarity and avoid misconceptions. Nuklutoshi directed the concerned department to present the report at the next DPDB meeting.
The meeting also approved and forwarded the registration of the Mongsanger Semchir Telongjem Society to the government for necessary action. The minutes of the previous meeting were also reviewed.
