Phek, July 25 (MExN): The newly constructed Farmers’ Market located at Phek Bible Colony was inaugurated on July 23 by Phek Deputy Commissioner Razouvolie Dozo.
According to a delayed press release received on Sunday, the newly inaugurated Market complex was constructed by the Department of Rural Development under Grant-in-Aid to Rural Local Bodies during 2019-2020 and will be managed by the Village Development Board (VDB) Phek Village.
During the programme, the inaugural guest DC Razouvolie Dozo appealed the people of the area to judiciously utilize the constructed complex with care and sincerity. He also urged the farmers to sell their produce at reasonable prices so as to attract its customers, and never take advantage of high price rise. Appreciating the RD department for their commendable deeds, Dozo further urged the management authority to deliver efficient services to its people. He expressed anticipation that the new asset would benefit the people of the area, especially the farmers.
Project Director (PD) of Phek DRDA Razukhru D Vasa, former Phek Block BDO Kuhucuyi D. Vadeo, BDO Heipeuding Ilunglung and former VCC Phek Chivozo Soho also spoke during the inauguration ceremony. PD, DRDA on behalf of the Department, conveyed gratitude to all those who were involved in the construction of the building while making special mention of Assistant EE, Joseph Devasia and the VDB Phek for their services, quality workmanship and timely completion of the building construction and the judicious utilization of fund, the release stated.
