New guidelines for QCs in Mokokchung issued

Mokokchung, August 7(MExN): From August 10, returnees in Quarantine Centres (QCs)in Mokokchung will have to pay for their mess. The amount is fixed at Rs 350 per head per day and will be inclusive of lunch, afternoon tea and dinner.

Any quarantinee may opt out and arrange own food from outside. Such food packages should be mandatorily in single use disposable containers and preferably of biodegradable materials and deposited at the designated QC kitchen for delivery. No unauthorized person is permitted to visit the QC. This was informed by Deputy Commissioner Mokokchung Limawabang Jamir in an order issued on August 7. The DC’s order informed that the new guidelines relating to the QCs in the district was taken in pursuance of the State Home Department notification on August 4 and as resolved in the Mokokchung District Task Force meeting on August 6. They will be enforced with effect from August 10.

The order also informed that any returnee or patient discharged from the QC or COVID Care Centre or COVID Hospital for home quarantine shall arrange their own transportation for going home. If any returnee is unable to arrange own transportation, the DTF will arrange necessary transportation, the cost of which will be borne by  the returnee.

“Any person/group acting in violation of this order shall be deemed to have committed an offence punishable under Section 188 of the Indian Penal Code,” the DC’s order read.
