The Mini Soccer Tournament 2022 under the initiative of GethemGo Sports Academy took place here today at Coraggio School Campus, Lerie.

New Market FC lifted the championship title and received a cash prize of Rs 10,000 along with trophy, medals and certificates. Ignite Junior, Phesama stood runner-up and were awarded with Rs 7000 along with trophy, medals and certificates.

Kevichalie Metha gave away the prizes to the winners during the closing ceremony.

Earlier, Kevilenuo Solo, Deputy Director, Directorate of Municipal Affairs, Nagaland graced the inaugural function as the special guest.

Keynote address was delivered by Viposa, Director, GethemGo Sports International while Vikuonyu Solo administered oath to the 11 participating teams. The inaugural function was led by Zapuchulie Khezhie.

‘Unique opportunity to impact younger generation’

Viposa said that the mini soccer tournament is the result of GethemGo Sports Academy.

“We created this academy so we can help the kids have fun, learn life values by engaging them into fun filled learning,” he said. With this inspiration, we dreamed of starting a tournament for the younger generation to inspire, Viposa said.

Highlighting the special reasons for this mini soccer tournament, he said “We want to inspire the upcoming generation with our passion of football. We want to inspire the younger parents to see sport as healthy and beautiful game. We want to inspire our communities to engage in investing and creating opportunities for the younger generation. We want to create a platform for the younger generation for outdoor learning opportunities of life skills and we want to promote our academy, to impact those who share the same passion to dream of more developing and creating academies for the younger generation.”

“Life is beautiful with football. We are committed to be a life coach to the upcoming generation,” he added.
