New road evokes hope among villagers

Dibuia, Jan 12 (MExN): Melak Link Road, which was constructed under LADP by Opposition Leader I. Imkong with assistance from the Assam Rifles, was inaugurated by Col. Sanjay Kapoor, Commandant 30th Assam Rifles on behalf of Maj.Gen. S S Kumar, S M, GOC. Nagaland who could not be present as his chopper could not land due to bad weather.

While speaking at the inaugural function as the Chief Guest on behalf of GOC Nagaland, Col. Sanjay Kapoor assured the villagers of every possible assistance from the Assam Rifles for the village, even in the future. He said, personally he was happy to be part and parcel of a monumental achievement in the form of the Agri Link Road for the needy people and so also was the Assam Rifles.

Leader of Opposition I Imkong expressed his happiness that the construction of a much required link road has indirectly built a close bond between the villagers and the security force (Assam Rifles).

The Village Council Chairman, on behalf of the villagers expressed their deep gratitude to their MLA and Leader of Opposition I Imkong and the benevolent Assam Rifles.

He said that the construction of this road was the villagers long cherish dream come true, which would hasten their cultivation and other agri-related activities, in the low lying area where the soil is rich.

The occasion was graced by MLA Taka Masa, Brig. Katian, Chief Engineer of the 3 Corps and his Lady wife, Imliyanger, Gen. Secy. NPCC, Ayang Aonok, V-President NPCC and government officials.
