DIMAPUR SEPT 26 (MExN): Reacting swiftly to smother a possible challenge to the preeminence of the Tuensang and Mon Students Federation (TMSF), the Chang Students Union Tuensang Town (CSUTT) taking strong exception at the formation of a new union called the All Students Union Tuensang Town (ASUTT), has asked the latter to dissolve its functioning immediately.
General Secretary of CSUTT, I Akhum Chang through a release stated that the CSUTT convened an emergency meeting on September 22 to discuss the formation of ASUTT at Tuensang town and resolved that the new students’ body was formed without any consultation with any tribal Hoho, tribal students unions or for that matter the TMSF, the apex students body of the students in Tuensang and Mon. It termed the formation of ASUTT as a “self-interest motive.”
The CSUTT stated that TMSF was represented by every tribal students union and formation of any other body was attempting to be at par with the TMSF and hence declared the ASUTT null and void. It also reminded that formation of a parallel body would disturb the co-existence of the student bodies and would create confusion.
