Kohima, February 10 (MExN): A newly opened school Koinonia Baptist School (KBS) in Kohima was dedicated by Rev Zotuo Kiewhuo, Founder and Senior Pastor Koinonia Baptist Church and Principal of Kohima Bible College, on February 10.
The school, KBS is under the aegis of Koinonia Baptist Church (KBC), located above Nagabazaar Road, Kieziekie with the objective to provide quality education through holistic approach of developing the mental, social and emotional character into good Christian valued life, to sensitize the young minds towards present day social condition and en them to be instrumental in the change required, according to a press release.
In his address, Rev Kiewhuo maintained that ‘the fear of the lord is the beginning of knowledge’ and also highlighted the significance of the Bible verse ‘train up a child in a way he should go and when he is old, he will no depart from it (Proverbs 22:6).’
He then stressed on the need for upbringing of a child through foundation with the knowledge of truth and love, the release stated. Pointing out that the American Baptist Missionaries brought the gospel of Christ to the Naga Hills through education; Rev Kiewhuo asserted the relevance of the same even to this date with focus upon Jesus Christ. Expressing concern over the rise of cults and other disturbing threats to the faith of Christian the speaker asserted that a school that would train the child with truth and fear of God was necessitated and is the need of the hour. The school will house students from Nursery to class 3 starting from this academic session. The dedicatory programme was led by Menuosielie Üsou, Evangelist Koinonia Baptist Church which was attended by school management board and church leaders.
