Newman Higher Secondary School organizes science & arts exhibition

DIMAPUR, SEPTEMBER 15 (MExN): With a target to provide opportunity to the students to exhibit their talents, skills, creativity and widen their horizon on various subject matters, the Newman Higher Secondary School, Tobu organized a Science & Arts exhibition-cum-inauguration of Science lab on September 15. 

Chuba Temjem, ADC, Tobu graced the event as special guest. Speaking on the occasion, Temjem encouraged students to be more realistic and develop their skills through creative approach. He also acknowledged the School for giving the opportunity to the students to explore their creativity through the exhibition.

During the programme, the principal, Rev Fr Anthony Samy, welcomed all delegates and invitees for their participation. He lauded all the teachers and students for their efforts to make the programme a success. He thanked the Department of Science and Technology for the science equipments and also acknowledged the contribution of Sangti Konyak, President TASU; Shillen Jacob, TTSU President; and A Bechung, Budget Analyst, Finance department for their support in establishment of the Science Laboratory.

Special features of the exhibition were the display of models comprising rain water harvesting, wireless power transfer system, workind model of kidney, nuclear power plant, volcanic eruption, solar system and energy, wind mill, water purification, hydro electric project, solar power plant, stages of agriculture, layers of atmosphere, solid waste management as well as the arts gallery comprises of various historical monuments and heritage of the world including different Naga traditional ornaments ,attires and handicrafts.

After the programme, the special guest along with invitees and panels surveyed the exhibition and interacted with the students about the models created by them.
