ACAUT consultative meeting
Dimapur, May 14 (MExN): Against Corruption and Unabated Taxation (ACAUT) Nagaland will have a consultative meeting on May 15 at 4:00 pm in its designated place to discuss some important issues. A press release from ACAUT secretary, Hetoi Chishi has informed all the ACAUT core members to attend the meeting without fail. Further, consultative members/advisors were requested to participate in the meeting for official endorsement of the consultative meeting minutes to the incumbent core members of ACAUT.
AEO Mokokchung informs
Mokokchung, May 14 (DIPR): Assistant Election Officer of Mokokchung, Alila Chang has informed all private vehicle owners that payment of hire charges in connection with the recently concluded general election to the Nagaland Legislative Assembly will be disbursed from May 15 to 17 at election office during office hour.
Governor expresses grief
Dimapur, May 14 (MExN): Governor of Nagaland PB Acharya has expressed grief at the demise of K Medom Angami, senior member of BJP Nagaland unit on May 11 in Dimapur. Acharya in a condolence message addressed to Zasituonuo Medom described the deceased as a close and personal friend who served the party in various capacities for the last 18 years. “Late Angami was a political guru and source of strength to many party workers in the State and his demise is a great loss to the people of Nagaland in general and party in particular,” he stated. His contribution for the betterment of the society and strengthening of the party will be remembered by all forever, the Governor added. He prayed to Almighty to give strength to all family members of the deceased.
Payment for vehicles used in assembly election
Dimapur, May 14 (MExN): Deputy Commissioner & District Election Officer Dimapur, Sushil Kumar Patel has in a press release informed that payments for hiring charges for vehicles requisitioned for the assembly election 2018 for Dimapur district will be made from May 16 to 18 from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm at DC's office (cashier’s room). Therefore, all concerned have been informed to come with the requisitioned order and other necessary documents and collect the hiring charges.
TASU calls off closure of governmental offices
Dimapur, May 14 (MExN): The Tobu Area Students' Union (TASU) has decided to call off the “indefinite closure” of governmental offices under Tobu sub-division following the intervention of the government in the Youth Hall construction issue. In a statement, TASU lauded the Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio for his intervention and the Director, Youth Resources & Sports (YR&S) for the prompt response to the ultimatum served by the union regarding the delay in the construction of Youth Hall at Tobu Headquarter. TASU president, Sangti Konyak stated that through the action initiated by the YR&S director, the construction of the Youth Hall has started after being left abandoned for eight years. The same has been assured to be completed by December 2018.
Two held with drugs & cough syrup
Zunheboto, May 14 (MExN): A team led by Officer-in-Charge, VK Police Station intercepted one Maruti 800 (WB-02Z-9042) carrying 21,576 capsules of Spasmo Proxyvon and 480 bottles of cough syrup on May 12 around 11:30 pm during random frisking and checking of vehicles at NH-2 near Doyang Bridge. The banned items were seized and driver Joy Sumi and occupant Lovito Yeptho were arrested, informed a press release from T Zubenthung Ovung, Sub Divisional Police Officer, Zunheboto. In this connection, a case was registered under DC Act and NDPS Act on May 13.
