Physical verification of pensioners

Kohima, May 15 (MExN): The office of the Senior Treasury Officer has through a press release informed all pensioners, both life & family, drawing pension from Kohima South Treasury that annual physical verification will be held from June 1 to 30 at the Sr. Treasury Office, Kohima (South) during office hours. All the pensioners are to appear physically along with PPO book and renewed NPA ID card, failing which, payment of pension will be stopped, the release stated.  

Cervical and breast cancer detection camp in Wokha

WOKHA, May 15 (MExN): Office of the Chief Medical Officer (CMO), Wokha has informed that a one day cervical and breast cancer detection camp will be held on May 19 at Dr. Motsuo Memorial District Hospital, Wokha by a team of doctors from ‘Dr Anjana Phukan Memorial Foundation’. The camp will provide gynaecology consultation and awareness talks to the women, VIA test, Pap smear test sample collection, breast screening, BP checking, and free medicines distribution. A press release from CMO Wokha, Dr. Enrithung Lotha has invited all women to attend the camp and avail the opportunity. The camp will start at 10:00 am.  

CNC annual conference

Dimapur, May 15 (MExN): Council of Nagalim Churches (CNC) is having its Annual Conference with May 16 as arrival and May 21 as departure day at Council Headquarters Church, Hebron. On May 20, there will be a special ‘Revival and Healing Service’ with the team of Divine Harvest and Healing Ministries, Dimapur. Therefore, CNC general secretary, Rev. Seksim Kasar has invited all the national workers, wherever they are, to come to the programme and “receive the blessing of the Lord.”  

Dimapur Police arrest two

Dimapur, May 15 (MExN): Dimapur Police on May 15 around 3:30 pm arrested two persons, namely Capt Hokishe Achumi (43) and 2nd Lt Vikashe Yepthomi (35) of GPRN/NSCN, for illegal collection of yearly tax from shopkeepers in and around Dimapur Town. A press release from PRO, Dimapur Police informed that a sum of Rs. 29,840, 10 pieces of papers with names, phone numbers and name of the shops and two mobile handsets were recovered from their possession. Accordingly, a case has been registered and further investigation is on.  

Dimapur: Appeal to protect District Hospital land

Dimapur, May 15 (MExN): The Medical Superintendent of District Hospital Dimapur, Dr. Z Kheshito Zhimo today informed that it has been brought to the knowledge of Hospital Management Committee that some individual(s) is attempting to sell plot of land within the hospital land under patta number 1046. Therefore, he has cautioned that anyone involved in such “illegal” activity will be doing so at their own risks. In a public notice, the Medical Superintendent further appealed to all individuals, organizations, churches, and civil societies to come forward in protecting the District Hospital Dimapur land “which belongs to all the general public.”  

Excise seize liquor in Dimapur

Dimapur, May 15 (MExN): The District Excise of Dimapur seized 30 cases of IMFL during raids conducted in suspected locations in and around Dimapur Town on May 15. In this connection, four persons identified as Bimol, Tarun, James and Avinash were arrested and booked under relevant section of the NLTP Act 1989, stated a press release from Superintendent of Excise & Prohibition, Dimapur, T Arilong Longkumer. With a view to curb illegal liquor activity especially in the ensuing Lok Sabha bye-election, regular and incessant checking will be conducted, the release said, soliciting from the public any information on illicit liquor transaction/ business.  

DMC increases mutton rates

Dimapur, May 15 (MExN): Dimapur Municipal Council (DMC) has enhanced the rates of mutton under its jurisdiction. As per an order issued by DMC Administrator Moa Sangtam, the new rate of mutton (khasi) will be Rs. 500 per kg, mutton (non khasi) will be Rs. 450 per kg, and offal (head, hoof, intestine etc) will be Rs. 200 per kg. The order was issued following a joint representation submitted to the DMC office by mutton sellers of Dimapur dated May 1, 2018 for enhancement of mutton rates from the existing DMC prices. The enhancement was made after thorough discussion and comparing the rate with the neighbouring Assam, according to the order. Stating that the above mentioned rates is the maximum amount fixed by the DMC which is to be strictly followed by the mutton sellers, it warned that appropriate action will be taken against defaulters. The order will be enforced with immediate effect.  

Ex-servicemen rally in Mokokchung

Kohima, May 15 (MExN): A rally will be organized for ex-servicemen/ veterans and veer naris/ widows of Mokokchung and Longleng districts on May 17 at Brasibhan Hall, 44 Assam Rifles from 9:30 am onwards. The main emphasis of the rally is to address pension related issues, disabled soldiers’ entitlements, ECHS and CSD card related queries, bank/ CPPC related issues and any other grievances of ex-servicemen, stated a press release from Col C Konwer, PRO (Defence). The attendees have been requested to carry their PPO, pension book or any other documents required for addressing the issues requiring redressal. Major General Balraj Mehta, Sena Medal, General Officer Commanding, Jorhat Sub Area will be the chief guest of the rally.
