Pre-certification on advertisement
Kohima, May 18 (MExN): In view of the Lok Sabha bye-election scheduled for May 28, office of the Commissioner & Returning Officer, Nagaland has reminded all political parties and candidates of the ECI directive on pre-certification on advertisement in print media on the day of poll and one day prior to it. The Election Commission of India’s directive states that no political party or candidate or any other organization or person shall publish any advertisement in the print media on the day of polling and a day before that unless the contents of the advertisement proposed to be published by the political parties, candidates etc. obtain pre-certification from the MCMC Committee at the State/District level, as the case may be.
CNC invites to revival crusade
Dimapur, May 18 (MExN): The Council of Nagalim Churches (CNC) has invited all the NSCN members to come to the one day revival crusade on May 20 at CHQ Church, Hebron. A press release from the CNC general secretary, Rev. Seksim Kasar informed that the service starts at 9:00 am. Team from Divine Harvest and Healing Ministries, Dimapur will be present at the crusade.
Governor extends Ramzan greetings
Kohima, May 18 (MExN): The Governor of Nagaland, PB Acharya has greeted the people of Nagaland and the Muslim community in particular on the start of the holy month of Ramzan. “As we begin Ramzan, I wish all Muslims a blessed time of reflection, family and good health. May this holy month enhances the spirit of togetherness, peace & harmony across the country,” Acharya wished in a message released to the media by his PRO. The Governor prayed that the holy month enhances the spirit of peace and harmony in the State.
Estimates Committee meeting postponed
Kohima, May 18 (MExN): Chairman of Estimates Committee, Nagaland Legislative Assembly has postponed the first meeting of the Committee fixed on May 22 in view of the Lok Sabha bye-election. The inconvenience caused is regretted, stated a press release from N Benjamin Newmai, Commissioner & Secretary, NLA.
Dimapur Police organize workshop
Dimapur, May 18 (MExN): Dimapur Police organized one day workshop on standardized record maintenance in police station and sensitization on CCTNS on May 18 at Commissioner of Police conference hall, Dimapur. Limasunep Jamir (IPS), Commissioner of Police gave the introductory remark, where he stated that “human minds has limitation and we forget things over a period of time so proper record maintenance is of paramount importance for the progress and advancement of society.” He urged all the officers to put in effort for proper maintenance of records, according to a press release from PRO, Dimapur Police. Dr. Tiamenla, ACP ‘D’ Division spoke on standardized record maintenance as per Nagaland Police Manual and K Venuh, Handholding Staff CCTNS Dimapur spoke on role of supervising officers. Yanrenthung Ngullie, ADCP (Crime) gave the conclusion remarks.
Assam Rifles apprehend two NSCN (K) cadres
Dimapur, May 18 (MExN): Dimapur battalion of Assam Rifles apprehended two NSCN (K) cadres while carrying out “extortion activities” in Metro Hospital area here on May 17. The two have been identified as N Vitoshe Zhimomi alias Jordan (45) and Kiyezhe Chophy (35). The recoveries from the individuals included 15 extortion letters of NSCN (K), 50 .22 mm live ammunition, 38 numbers of 12 bore live ammunition, three mobile phones, cash amount of Rs. 4000/- and one Bolero bearing registration number NL 07 H 6341, stated a press release from PRO, HQ IGAR (North). The apprehended persons along with the recovered items were handed over to West Police Station, Dimapur for further investigation, the release added.
