World No Tobacco Day on May 31
Kohima, May 29 (DIPR): World No Tobacco Day will be held at DBT Hall NHAK, Kohima on May 31 at 1:00 pm. In twine with this year’s theme, "Tobacco and heart disease,” the topic on Tobacco and Heart disease will be delivered by Dr Vanlaruati Nyuthe, Medical Specialist NHAK. A short speech will be delivered by State Nodal Officer NCD, Dr Nchumbemo Ezung and a brief presentation on the activities of NTCP will be presented by District Nodal Officer, Kohima District, Dr Arenla walling. Every year, May 31 is observed as World No Tobacco Day to advocate effective policies which can help in reducing tobacco consumption among the masses. This year’s theme focuses on linking tobacco with heart and other cardiovascular diseases like stroke.
NDMSA meeting on June 1
Dimapur, May 29 (MExN): Nagaland Directorate Ministerial Service Association (NDMSA), President, M Renthungo Tungoe through a press release has informed that an emergency meeting of the registrars and representatives of all the directorates in Nagaland will be convened on June 1, 3:00 pm at Red Cross Conference Hall, Kohima. The release further informed all representing members to have prior discussion on the issues attached in the circular already dispatched from their respective directorates and bring their views during the proposed meeting.
Training for counting of votes in Kiphire
Kiphire, May 29 (DIPR): Training for Counting Supervisors and Counting Micro observers was held at DC’s conference hall, Kiphire on May 29. The Master Trainers Daniel-Sechopi Sangtam DLMT and K. Alipa Sangtam DLMT gave instructions to the Counting Supervisors and Micro Observers. They imparted knowledge about the seal intact and advised the trainee to go through proper counting channel and show the seal intact to the counting agents in order to prevent anomalies during the counting. The master trainers also said that if any inconveniences occurred in the machine they should show to observers for the final decision.
