AR apprehend NSCN (K) cadre Mon, January 20 (MExN): 40 Assam Rifles apprehended an NSCN (K) cadre identified as Pichung Konyak (25) with one pistol and three rounds in Monyakshu on January 17, according to a press release from Assam Rifles. The cadre was apprehended during an operation carried out based on “specific input with respect to likely execution of sabotage activities by underground cadres in Manyaksho.” The apprehended cadre was handed over to Police Station, Tobu. Media persons asked to obtain Municipal Elections Pass Kohima, January 20 (DIPR): The Department of Information & Public Relations (I&PR) has informed all the Media Offices/Agencies to provide names of journalists along with two passport sized photos each to the Directorate of I&PR in order to obtain Pass for the Nagaland municipal elections 2017. All the offices have been directed to submit the details on or before January 25. Coordination meeting held in Tening Tening, January 20 (DIPR): The monthly coordination meeting cum work distribution for Republic Day 2017 in Tening was held at ADC’s chamber on January 18. Additional Deputy Commissioner of Tening, Thsuvisie Phoji, chaired the meeting, where government employees were directed to attend the Republic Day celebration and PWD department was instructed to take care of the roads in the town areas. Health and Family Welfare was entrusted to take care of any medical help during the Republic Day celebration. Information and Public Relations Department will be installing the sound system. 36 Assam Rifles will provide light refreshment along with tents for Republic Day. The ADC and Returning Officer of Tening Council Election also cautioned against failure to perform election duty with disciplinary action as per election rule of conduct. The house also decided to conduct mass social on January 23 for Republic Day. ADC Aboi meets departments and NGOs Aboi, January 20 (MExN): Additional Deputy Commissioner of Aboi, Wasu Katiry held a meeting on January 20 at ADC’s conference hall here to chalk out the programme for celebration of Republic Day 2017. He also informed that there will be a mass social work on January 24 starting from 7:00 am onwards. Therefore, all the citizens and town dwellers have been asked to participate in the mass social work. The meeting was held with all head of departments, institutions, CO 9th Bihar regiment, Vice Chairman (AATC), Presidents of KU, KNSK, ATSU, AASU, Head GBs and all ward GBs.
