
Zuboni for Nari Shakti Puraskar 2016 Kohima, February 24 (MExN): Zuboni Humtsoe from Nagaland has been selected for Nari Shakti Puraskar 2016 for outstanding contribution to women’s empowerment by Ministry of Women and Child Development, Government of India. President of India Pranab Mukerjee will give the award on March 8 at 12.00 Noon at Rastrapati Bhavan, New Delhi on the occasion International Women’s Day 2017. Angami Sekrenyi festival at Tuophema Kohima, February 24 (MExN): The Angami Sekrenyi (Phousanyi) festival will take place at Tuophema village on February 27 at Tuophema Dahou (Ampi Theatre). MLA Dr. Neiphrezo Keditsu will grace the occasion as the chief guest. Significance of Sekrenyi will be given by Tuophema Village Council chairman Pfuduolhou Kense. Folk song & indigoes games session will take place at 1:00 PM. Indigenous games will be in the form of Phipra (Bamboo stilt walk), Misi Dzieguo (muzzle loading gun shooting), Seitheii dziequo (Indigenous catapult shooting), Phita Meshii (High Kick) and Mepfii (Traditional yelling). APO Sekrenyi Festival at Kisama Kohima, February 24 (DIPR): The Angami Public Organisation (APO) is organizing a programme to celebrate the premier festival of the Angami - Sekrenyi Festival at Kisama on February 25 at 11:00 am. Chief Minister of Nagaland, Dr. Shürhozelie Liezietsu will be attending the festival as special invitee. The programme will be chaired by President, Angami Youth Organisation, Neinguvotuo Krose while invocation will be offered by Parish Priest SFS, Kohima, Rev. Fr. Alex Vizo. President of APO, Dr. Vilhousa Seleyi will deliver Sekrenyi Greetings while speech will be delivered by the Chief Minister. President of Angamimiapfü Mechü Krotho (AMK), Ruokuoheü Miachie-o will deliver the vote of thanks. The formal programme will be followed by Sekrenyi feast. Sunday school teachers training in Khm Kohima, February 24 (MExN): The Kohima Town Baptist Church Christian Educators (KTBCEF) is organizing a two day Sunday school teachers training Programme on February 27 and 28 at Jubilee Memorial Centre, Lerie, Kohima. KTBCEF, President, Alice Walling has informed in a press release that three resource persons from St. Andrew Centre for HRD and Counselling of the India Sunday school Union Creative Teaching for Transformation will be conducting the sessions.
