‘Our state is in utter need for matured politician like you’: KL Chishi to new CM Dimapur, February 24 (MExN): Former Chief Minister of Nagaland and Member, North East Congress Coordination Committee today congratulated Dr. Shürhozelie Liezietsu on his appointment as the new Chief Minister of Nagaland. “Our state is in utter need for a matured politician like you with wide experience in public life because of your age and having faced the complexities of the nature of politics in the midst of overground and underground as well. I am sure that you will be in a position to steer the flagship of our state and its people with political sagacity,” Chishi said in a letter to the new Chief Minister. He further wished Dr. Shürhozelie the very best of luck for an efficient administration which he said is urgently needed at this juncture.     Candlelight service for Khriesavizo, Bendangnungsang Dimapur, February 24 (MExN): Diphupar Naga Students’ Union (DNSU) in collaboration with the Diphupar Village Council and Diphupar Naga Youth Organisation is organizing a candlelight service in memory of Khriesavizo Metha and Bendangnungsang Longkumer on February 26, 5:00 pm at Diphupar Village Local Ground. The two were killed on January 31 in Dimapur.     9 AR apprehend NSCN (R) cadres Pfutsero, February 24 (MExN): Troops of 9 Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (North) apprehended two NSCN (R) cadres along with “Royalty vehicle tax collection receipt” during a search operation conducted at Welcome Gate, Putsero on February 23, 2017, according to a press release from Assam Rifles. The operation was conducted based on specific intelligence. The cadres identified as Ape and Theteveuo along with the seized articles were handed over to Police Station, Pfutsero, the release added.     LSU inducts new team Wokha, February 24 (MExN): Lotha Students’ Union (LSU) has elected a new team of office bearers for the tenure 2017-2020. Election was held for the posts of President, Vice President and Finance Secretary, while others were elected uncontested. The election result was declared by the LSU Election Commission on February 24 at Tiyi Hall, Wokha. All the members have been asked to attend the meeting without fail.     Organic tea farming training on March 1 Dimapur, February 24 (mexn): Nagaland Small Tea Growers’ Association (NSTGA) in collaboration with Tea Board India is conducting one-day training on organic tea farming in Tuli on March 1 at Forest Contractors’ Union hall. The training will start at 10:00 am. A press release from NSTGA president, M Shami Angh has asked at least ten members from each district unit to attend the training.
