Deo Nukhu urges repeal of AFSPA Morung Express News Kohima | March 30 During the final day of the NLA session today, Parliamentary Secretary for Higher and Technical Education, Deo Nukhu urged the house to work towards the repeal of AFSPA. He narrated his own first hand experiences under the draconian law of AFSPA, where he witnessed the atrocities committed by the Indian Army on the Naga public. “Despite the peaceful situation in our State, AFSPA is extended again and again,” Nukhu said and urged the House to take the extension of Disturbed Area Act which empowers AFSPA seriously, as Nagaland is no more a disturbed area.     Disability Certification Camp Tuli, March 30 (DIPR): The Deputy Commissioner Mokokchung, Sushil Kumar Patel has informed that a Disability Certification Camp is being organized at Tuli and Changtongya on April 1. At Tuli, the Camp will be held at Hospital Tuli from 9:00 am to 12:30 pm and at Changtongya it will be held from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm at the Hospital Changtongya. All the differently-abled persons who are not having Disability Certificate have been requested to attend the camp.     Mokokchung DPDB meeting preponed Mokokchung, March 30 (DIPR): The monthly meeting of Mokokchung District Planning and Development Board which is scheduled for April 7 has been preponed to April 4, Tuesday. The meeting will be held in the Conference Hall of ADC (Planning) from 11:00 am onwards. All the DPDB members have been requested to take note of the change of date and make convenient to attend the same without fail.     Polio Sunday on April 2 Dimapur, March 30 (MExN): The second round of ‘IPPI’ Polio Sunday will be held on April 2 in Dimapur District. A press release from the Chief Medical Officer Dimapur informing this requested parents to bring their children aged 0-5 years to the nearest Polio Booth in their locality for Oral Polio Vaccine (bOPV) starting from 7:00 am to 3:00 pm onwards. The Department also appealed to all concerned citizens to mobilize children to avail the Polio Drops.     SGKD informs Dimapur, March 30 (MExN): The Shoixe Ghami Kuposhukulu Dimapur (Welfare) has informed all its members residing in and around Dimapur, to gather at the residence of Khekuto Zhimomi KI, 3rd Mile, Chekiye village on April 1, 8:00 am onwards to take photograph for electoral.   Dimapur Phom Union condoles Dimapur, March 30 (MExN): The Dimapur Phom Union has expressed sadness and great loss at the passing away of M. Hepong Phom, Ex-IBM who passed away after a brief illness at Eden Hopital on March 28 at the age of 102. “The DPU at this hour of grief and sorrow stand with the bereaved family members and pray that the Almighty God grant them solace to bear the demise of a father and a great leader of Phom community,” a message from the union stated. NSCN (IM) CSD functioning halted Dimapur, March 30 (MExN): The functioning of the Crime Suppression Department, NSCN (IM) has been put on halt in Dimapur until further review of the situation. UT-1 NSCN (R) warns unauthorized tax collector Dimapur, March 30 (MExN): The UT-1 NSCN/GPRN (Reformation) through its MIP has warned unauthorized imposters collecting yearly tax in the name of Chaplee affairs under UT-1 jurisdiction, without the knowledge of chairman and secretary UT-1.
