Alleged NSCN (K) OGW held Zunheboto, May 12 (MExN): The 5 Assam Rifles claimed the arrest of an alleged Over Ground Worker (OGW) of NSCN (K) from Old Natha, Zunheboto Town on May 8. A press release from the AR identified the individual as one T. Mughaka Aye (25 years) and claimed that the apprehended OGW was involved in collection of illegal taxes and extortion money from the general public in Zunheboto Town. Nine tax collection notes were recovered from his possession, the AR stated. He was later handed over to Zunheboto Police Station along with recovered items.     One arrested under NLTP Dimapur, May 12 (MExN): Excise personnel recovered 3192 bottles of assorted IMFL from a Tata Mobile on May 10 at Thakhekhu Block 5 road. A press release from the Superintendent of Excise (Mobile Squad) informed that the assorted IMFL included: 588 bottles of 750 ml Rum, 720 bottles of 180 ml Rum, 396 bottles of 750 ml whisky and 1488 bottles of 180 ml Whisky. In this regard, one person identified as Dinesh, a resident of Lahorijan, Assam has been booked. The seized article is being kept in the Mobile Squad Malkhana for further disposal, it stated.     One arrested with cough syrup Dimapur, May 12 (MExN): The Narcotic Cell of the Excise Department manning Khuzama interstate Excise check gate seized 700 bottles of restricted cough syrup (Rexomax) while being smuggled to Manipur in a passenger bus around 3:00 am on May 12. A press release from Superintendent of Excise (NC), Dimapur informed that one accused identified as L. Leshini (30) was arrested and booked under relevant sections of the D&C Act 1940 and forwarded to judiciary.     IED ‘expert’ held Dimapur, May 12 (MExN): Based on specific information regarding presence of an IED expert linked to UG organisations, troops of 41 Assam Rifles along with police representative launched an operation near Police Colony, Dimapur on May 10 and arrested one person allegedly involved in “fabrication & supply” of IEDs to various underground groups and drug peddling, according to a press release from AR. 65 grams of Explosive Neogel 90, Tax Collection Slips, Walkie Talkie sets, and 15 grams of contraband Heroin was seized from the individual identified as one Kevi Kiba (48), it added. The individual along with the recovered explosive and items was later handed over to East Police Station, Dimapur for further investigation.     Opium worth Rs. 6 lakhs seized Kohima, May 12 (MExN): Kohima Police personnel manning Khuzama Inter-State Police Check Gate on May 11 intercepted one passenger vehicle and recovered 20 liters of contraband Opium (liquid form) from the possession of one passenger identified as Bhim Bahadur Chetri (34). A press release from the Kohima Police PRO informed that a regular case under the NDPS Act has been registered against the arrested person for conducting further investigation.
