MALT to visit govt offices Mangkolemba, July 8 (MExN): The Mangkolemba Ao Lanur Telongjem (MALT) will visit all the government offices in Mangkolemba Town from July 10 to 31. Therefore, a press release from MALT president, I. Tia Jamir and general secretary, Sentimeren Imchen has informed all the heads of department and their staff at Mangkolemba to be present in the office during office hour.   DRYO elects new officials Dimapur, July 8 (MExN): The Dimapur Rengma Youth Organisation (DRYO) has elected officials of its Executive Council for the tenure 2017-2020. Ruchuyhun Keppen was elected as president, Aga Rengma – general secretary, Asho Seb – finance secretary, and Noel Thong as info & publicity secretary among others. The organization also elected 40 members as range representatives, informed a press release from DRYO president, Ruchuyhun Keppen and assistant general secretary, A. Shyerhunlo Lorin.   KROS College visits District Jail, Kohima Kohima, July 8 (MExN): The Department of Sociology, KROS College, Kohima visited District Jail in Kohima on July 6. The purpose of the visit, according to a press release, was to educate and sensitize the students about the life and plight of the inmates who are in solitary confinement. The students and faculty members were briefed by the jail authorities on the activities and facilities offered to the inmates. Interactive session with the inmates was an eye opener and educative for the students, it added.   Mokokchung DYC supports CBI probe demand Mokokchung, July 8 (MExN): The Mokokchung District Youth Congress (DYC) has fully endorsed the statement made by Nagaland Pradesh Youth Congress (NPYC) demanding the intervention of Governor of Nagaland PB Acharya to recommend CBI probe into the “rampant backdoor appointments” in the Home department and misappropriation of funds for police modernization. In a press release issued by its President Merentemsu, the DYC also demanded to sack the Nagaland Home Minister.   Mon Officers’ Club donates to Wangkhao College Mon, July 8 (MExN): Mon Officers’ Club donated 30 sets of desks and benches to Wangkhao Government College recently. The donation was mobilised among the officers who came forward with genuine concern about acute shortage of basic needs in the college, stated a press release. The college had significant increase in enrolment this session and had to create additional section, resulting in the need for more seating provisions. Through the press release, the principal, teachers, students and parents expressed gratitude to the donors. In the meantime, the college also appreciated the Konyak Students' Union (KSU) for donating 10 sets of ceiling fans to the college. Meanwhile, Wangkhao community urged for more of such community support towards the growth of the college in the days to come.   Summer camp at Chessore Tuensang, July 8 (MExN): Sangto Christian School Chessore commenced its 2-day summer camp on June 8 under the aegis of Yimchunger Baptist Boru Amukhongdo. Organized under the theme ‘The fear of the lord is the beginning of knowledge’ (Proverbs1:7), the children will attend spiritual awakening and career guidance programmes during the camp which will end on July 9. The resource persons for the camp are Khalenmew, Mission Secretary; Lakiumong, Youth Secretary; Tsukhumla CEP and Tushila P. A press release from SCS headmaster, Keyoungkhum informed that the introductory programme on July 8 began with invoking God’s grace by Pastor Toki Allen. Tsukhumla CEP chaired the programme, while the school headmaster Keyoungkhum welcomed the participants and lauded that sensibility in organizing such inclusive programme which he said is the need for people of rural area where there is poor human resource.
