12- year old boy feared drowned   Morung Express News Dimapur | July 23 A 12 year old boy is feared to have drowned at the Dhansiri River in Darogajan village, Dimapur on Sunday evening. The boy identified as Thuingachan Sira, a Class 6 student of Kingsway School, Dimapur, was reportedly playing by the riverside with three of his friends when he slipped and fell into the river. A long search ensued and while the river water had largely subsided by Sunday morning, the body could not be found. Search was eventually called off late in the evening due to bad weather conditions.     Anti-Rabies vaccination Camp'   Tseminyu, July 23 (MExN): The “Anti-Rabies vaccination Camp cum Awareness program on threat of Zoonotic Diseases from Consumptions of unhealthy meat” is being jointly organized by Veterinary department and ADC office, Tseminyu on July 26, 9:00 am at Town Hall, Tseminyu. Therefore all concerned and dogs owner are informed to get their dogs vaccinated. While the Anti-Rabies vaccines will be provided free of charge, a nominal fee of Rs. 50 shall be realized for vaccination card, a press release from the A.H & Veterinary Services Department Tseminyu informed.     DPP Central Executive meeting   Dimapur, July 23 (MExN): A meeting of the Democratic Progressive Party’s (DPP) Central Executive Board (CEB) has been scheduled for July 25, 2:00 pm at Niathu Villa, Sovima, Dimapur. Therefore, all the concerned members are requested to attend the said meeting positively.     DRFCB emergency meeting   Dimapur, July 23 (MExN): The Dhansiri River Flood Control Board (DRFCB) has convened an emergency meeting on July 25, 10:00 am at its office Marketing Complex, Purana Bazar, East Dimapur. Therefore, all the office bearers, executive members, advisors have been requested to attend the meeting without fail.     NSCN (R) condoles Dimapur, July 23 (MExN): The NSCN/GPRN (Reformation) has expressed grief over the demise of its Shepoumaramth Region Chairman, R.H. Shehu, who breathed his last on July 22. A message from the MIP informed that late Shehu had served the Naga Nation with utmost “sincerity and responsibility” since 2006 and added that his immense contribution and sacrifice will be remembered by the people. Extending condolences, the NSCN (R) prayed that the Almighty grant solace to the bereaved families and prayed for the departed soul to rest in peace.     Five ‘force discharged’ by NSCN (R)   Dimapur, July 23 (MExN): The NSCN/GPRN (Reformation) has issued a “forced discharge” order for five of its cadres from active national service with immediate effect. A press release from the MIP stated that the five were found involved in “anti-social activities which is against the Azha/principle of the government”. The MIP identified the five as Capt. James of Shepoumaramth region, Lieut. Atsingse of Sangtam region, 2nd Lieut. Tingyem of Konyak region, Sergt. Aching of Konyak region, and Pvt. Phoanei of Konyak region. The MIP has further informed the general public not to entertain them in any way in matters relating to the government.     BJP’s 44 A/C Phomching holds meeting   Mon, July 23 (MExN): The 44 A/C Phomching of BJP held a meeting on July 11 to fill up the vacant post of mandal officials and selected 17 people to fill up the different posts including presidents and general secretaries of Yuva Morcha, Mahilla, and Kissan Morcha. The BJP’s 44 A/C Phomching also decided to send Chingsak Konyak as BJP candidate for the constituency in the coming 2018 general elections.     NYVs induction training concludes   Dimapur, July 23 (MExN): The 15-day induction training of National Youth Volunteers (NYVs) conducted by Nagaland Yuva Kendra Sangathan concluded on July 18 at Youth Hostel, Dimapur. The training began on July 4. The valedictory function was graced by ADC Dimapur, Sarah Jamir. She called upon the youths to be agents of change and participate in various developmental activities in their respective areas for a better future. She felt the need to avail different skill trainings imparted by various departments and also urged them to venture out for job avenues and entrepreneurship. Jamir also gave away the best discipline district award to NYV, Mon. The programme was chaired by Toshila, NYV Tuensang. Benediction and vote of thanks was proposed by Olitan, NYV Tuensang and Viseno, NYV Kohima. Altogether, 170 volunteers from 11 districts of Nagaland attended the training.
