133 arrested under NLTP Dimapur, August 6 (MExN): The Excise Mobile Squad seized a total of 24,755 bottles of assorted liquor from various locations in Dimapur in the month of June and July, according to a press release from the office of the Commissioner of Excise. In this connection, 133 persons were arrested and charged under relevant sections of the NLTP Act 1989. In addition, a total of 5781 capsules of spasmo proxyvon and nitrosun were seized during the same period, the release added. All the seized articles are deposited in the unit malkhana. Change of venue for NPCC meeting Dimapur, August 6 (MExN): The NPCC Meeting to observe the 75th Anniversary (Platinum Jubilee) of the Quit India Movement will be held at Hotel Seb Tower, Near Zion Hospital junction, Purana Bazar, Dimapur on August 8, 10:00 am and not as previously informed. CSUD Freshers’ Day on Aug 26 Dimapur, August 6 (MExN): The Chakhesang Students' Union Dimapur (CSUD) will be organizing its 28th Freshers' Day cum Social Gathering at Town Hall, Dimapur on August 26 at 2:00 pm with K. Therie, President NPCC (Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee) as guest speaker. The union has invited all the students, elders, leaders of various organizations and well wishers to be a part of the event. In a press release, the union further informed that it is mandatory for students of class 10 and above falling within the CSUD jurisdiction, i.e., Dimapur Town and Toulazouma village, to attend the programme. The union will take its own course of action against those who fail to attend, stated the release. NSCN (IM)'s ENNWU mourns Dimapur, August 6 (MExN): The Eastern Naga National Workers’ Union (ENNWU) of the NSCN (IM) has deeply mourned the loss of Tsilise Sangtam, Steering Committee Member, on August 5. One arrested with arms Kohima, August 6 (MExN): Troops of 3 Assam Rifles along with police representative launched an operation in New Market Area, Kohima on July 31 and apprehended an individual for illegally possessing one .22 mm Pistol with magazine. The apprehended individual, identified as Chetei Shiu, along with the recovered items was handed over to OC, North Police Station, Kohima for further investigation.
