Sunrise Colony Council to blockade DMC vehicles   Dimapur, August 8 (MExN): The Sunrise Colony Council in Dimapur has resolved to resume indefinite blockade of Dimapur Municipal Council (DMC) vehicles carrying garbage to the dumping site located at Sunrise Colony starting from August 11. The resolution has been made “due to withdrawal of assurance” by the Department of Municipal Affairs to shift the dumping ground, stated a press release from M. Hantung Phom, Chairman and Athempu Kamei, Secretary of Sunrise Colony Council. The council has requested the public to bear with the inconvenience and further appealed to join them in their demand for “enjoyment of pollution free water and air which will become a reality only when the present dumping ground is shifted.”     Excise Mobile Squad seize 1042 bottles of liquor   Dimapur, August 8 (MExN): The Excise Mobile Squad during its routine checking on August 3 seized 1042 bottles of assorted liquor from various locations in Dimapur. In this connection, 30 persons were arrested and booked under relevant section of NLPT Act 1989 and the seized article were deposited in the Unit Malkhana until further orders, informed a press note from Katoho Sumi, Superintendent of Excise & Prohibition (MS), Dimapur.     JSY beneficiaries & ASHAs informed   Dimapur, August 8 (MExN): Medical Superintendent of District Hospital, Dimapur has informed all the JSY beneficiaries and ASHAs to submit photocopy of bank passbook (front page containing account holder’s details) and IFSC code for payment with immediate effect. The information has been issued as per the directives from higher authority, Dr. CW Tungoe stated in a press release.     ZPC NSS unit observes Swachhata Pakhwada   Kiphire, August 8 (MExN): The National Service Scheme (NSS) unit of Zisaji Presidency College, Kiphire is observing Swachhata Pakhwada (cleanliness drive) from August 1 to 15 within the college campus and around Kiphire Town. It is sensitizing the citizens not to litter the town and also to keep their surroundings clean. On August 2, the unit collected waste materials within the town and disposed them off in the right location, stated a press release from Thoshusie Katiry, Program Officer, NSS, ZPC Kiphire. Meanwhile, the NSS unit in collaboration with the Nehru Yuva Kendra, Kiphire organised a cleanliness drive in the new college campus Alikhong on August 4.
