Dimapur DC issues notice on AadhaarDimapur DC issues notice on Aadhaar DIMAPUR, AUGUST 11 (DIPR): Deputy Commissioner Dimapur, Kesonyu Yhome, has in a public notice, informed the general public of Dimapur district about Aadhaar enrolment being carried out in shops/ outlets that are not authorized by the State Government. The notice reminded that the State Government has authorized Aadhaar enrolment to be carried out only in designated Enrolment Agencies which are DC office Dimapur, ADC offices of Niuland and Medziphema, and SDO(C) offices in Dhansiripar and Kuhuboto. Only correction of Aadhaar details may be carried out in those shops/outlets, the notice informed. The DC has advised the public not to approach such shops or outlets for Aadhaar enrolment and cautioned that DC office Dimapur cannot guarantee the successful generation of Aadhaar applied through such outlets. He further directed the concerned individuals running such outlets to immediately stop providing Aadhaar enrolment services to the public, failing which necessary punitive action will be initiated against them. 5 held for possession of narcotics Mon, August 11 (MExN): The Mon District Excise Department has arrested five persons for possession of banned drugs. The first of the arrest was made on July 27 when Excise personnel recovered 210.5 grams of Brown Sugar from the possession of Wangto and Phuhhei. In the second incident, Excise personnel set up a mobile checking on the highway from Sonari to Mon and arrested three persons with 1113 tablets of Spasmoproxyvon (SP) and 60 tablets of Nitrosun. The three were identified as Mankhe Konyak, Chemtai Konyak and Chahwang Konyak. All five were booked under relevant sections of NDPS Act 1985 and Drugs and Cosmetics Act 1940 and the cases have been forwarded to District and Session Judge, Mon for trial. AR claims arrest of NSCN (K) cadre Zunheboto, August 11 (MExN): The Assam Rifles have claimed the arrest of an NSCN (K) cadre from Zunheboto on August 8. Troops of 5 AR launched an operation in Alahuto Colony in Zunheboto and apprehended a Captain of the NSCN (K) along with “incriminating documents” and extortion notes. The cadre, identified as Inoto Chopy, 37 years, was handed over to Zunheboto Police Station along with the recoveries for further investigation, a press release from Lt. Col. Documentary on WW II battle of Kohima Kohima, August 11 (DIPR): The first comprehensive Naga narrative on the WW II, Battle of Kohima (Naga experiences) will be released on August 14 by Director, IPR, Nagaland, Limawati Ao, at the conference hall, Directorate of Information and Public Relations at 1:00 pm. The documentary is a production of Kohima Educational Society/ Kohima Educational Trust. The documentary, after its release, will be telecast at Nagaland Cornerstone T.V (Dimapur and Mokokchung) and Central Cable, Kohima Local Cable at 7:30 PM on August 14 and 15. Director, Highland Dawn Media, Wabang Moa will chair the programme, while Chairman KES Dr. Phyobemo Ngully will give the introduction to the documentary. The documentary will also be screened during the programme. Secretariat officers, staff asked to attend I-Day function Kohima, August 11 (MExN): The Commissioner & Secretary of Home department in a circular has informed all the officers and staff of the Nagaland Civil Secretariat to attend the Independence Day 2017 function, which will be held at Secretariat Plaza on August 15.
