
UGC on grievance redressal portal Kohima, August 17 (DIPR): The University Grants Commission (UGC) has directed the institutes to exhibit a notice board giving details of the students’ grievance redressal portal of UGC (http://www.ugc.ac.in/grievance/) in their university and also ensure the same in the affiliated colleges. The Nodal Officer, the person in-charge of the Grievance Redressal Cell of the university will monitor and respond to students' grievances lodged on the portal. The Nodal Officers, in addition to handling grievances of respective university, will also be responsible for handling grievances of colleges affiliated to their university and report the action taken on the portal. Teacher animators’ programme held Kohima, August 17 (MExN): Capacity building programme for teacher animators under the theme ‘Discovering one’s potential as a teacher’ was organised by Peace Channel Kohima District with an objective to empower the teachers to be the school mediator for conflict resolutions in schools at CAN Building on August 12. This was achieved through the programme consisting of motivational and experiential learning, by resource person David Mhathung Humtsoe, Peace Channel, Project Coordinator. The teachers were also trained to follow the six step model in the mediation process. The programme was chaired by Sedekieno Rino and vote of thanks delivered by Petekhrienuo Rame. UCTE observes Quit India anniversary Dimapur, August 17 (MExN): Unity College of Teacher Education (UCTE), Dimapur observed the 75th year of Quit India Movement and 71st year of India Independence on August 14. A quiz competition was organised based on the theme ‘Quit India Movement’ and ‘Indian National Movement’ on the day. Altogether, 20 teacher-trainees, who were divided into 10 groups, participated representing both 1st & 3rd Semesters. The programme was held in the presence of principal and the faculty. Free medical camp held at Chumu Dimapur, August 17 (MExN): Shree Agarwal Mahashaba, Dimapur conducted a free medical camp at Gonyu Memorial School, Chumukedima for the public of Chumukedima on August 13. The Doctors of Dimapur rendered their services to check up the patients. Public leader also visited the camp and appreciated the work of Agarwal Mahasaba. All together 317 patients were examined and provided medicine at free of cost to the patients. The medical team consisted of Doctors, Dr. D. R. Sharma, Dr S. M. Agarwal, Dr. Deepak Jain, Dr. Sunil Sethi, Dr. Flora, Dr. Bijay Sethi and Dr. Anil Patni. Shree Agarwal Mahashaba in a press release stated that it is looking forward to organise such free Medical Camp near future for the welfare of the citizen.
