BJP Nagaland expels two

Kohima, October 22 (MExN): The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Nagaland State unit has expelled Khriezovolie Kesiyie and Seyiekhrielie Nagi from both Primary and Active Membership of the party for their “anti-party activities” with immediate effect, informed a press release from the party’s general secretary, Eduzu Theluo. The expulsion has been done by the president in compliance with the party constitution provision under Article XXV Clause 2 and 10 as recommended by Disciplinary Action Committee, it added.  

LSWO Kohima elects office bearers

Kohima, October 22 (MExN): Lazami Social Welfare Organization (LSWO), Kohima elected its new team of office bearers for the tenure 2017-2022 during its 45th anniversary-cum-parting social held on October 14 at Sithie Park near Assam Rifle Camp, NH-61, Tsiesama Basa. The new team will be led by Ngukato K. Tsuipu as president, Kitoho Swu as general secretary, Vitolu Swu as finance secretary, and Dr. I. Simon Sumi as banker, among others.  

‘Peace education’ prog at MGM Hr Sec School

Dimapur, October 22 (MExN): MGM Hr Sec School conducted a special programme on ‘Peace education’ on October 13 at the school auditorium. NEISSR MSW trainees Ghupitho and Hechila were the recourse persons along with school peace channel animators. All the peace channel members participated in the Poster making, Essay writing, Slogan, Poetry writing, Elocution competitions. For Elocution, Priyanka Ganta of class 12 Arts, Corrie Ten of class 12 Science and Isuibuile of class 12 Science won the first, second and third places respectively. In Essay writing, Ekon Kikon of class 12 Arts, Thaknei Konyak of class 12 Arts and Wenlang M of class 11 Science emerged first, second and third winners respectively.  

AR's National Integration Tour for Jalukie schools conclude

Dimapur, October 22 (MExN): A National Integration Tour for 20 students and two teachers of various schools of Jalukie was organised by 36 Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (N) from October 5 to 14. AR press note stated that the participants visited places of historical and tourist importance in Delhi, Chandigarh and Amritsar. The highlight of the trip was an interaction with Ram Nath Kovind, President of India. The students also interacted with Lt Gen GS Dhillon, AVSM, YSM, SM, Chief of Staff, Headquarter Western Command. The tour also witnessed the retreat ceremony at Wagha Border. The tour culminated on October 14 in Dimapur.  

UNDP president mourns

Dimapur, October 22 (MExN): United Naga Democratic Party (UNDP) president has expressed sadness over the death of Yashikala Jamir, wife of Lt. N.I. Jamir. “She was undoubtedly a woman of courage, most caring, thoughtful, gentle in nature, rare virtue, enduring personality and a great inspiring Naga woman,” stated Hotongse Sangtam, president, UNDP in a condolence message. Extending his thoughts and prayer to the family, he also offered deepest sympathies and love to them.
