Shops asked to decorate, remain open on Sundays

Dimapur, November 8 (MExN): In view of the forthcoming festive season, Christmas and New Year, all the shopkeepers/ commercial building owners under Dimapur Municipal Council (DMC) jurisdiction have been informed to white wash/paint walls, shutters, doors with white and blue colors and also decorate and illuminate their respective shops/ buildings with decorative lights of low energy consumption by November 30, 2017. Meanwhile, DMC Administrator Moa Sangtam asked all the shopkeepers/ business establishments other than workshops & industries to keep their respective shops open on all Sundays after Sunday service timing from November 15, 2017 till January 1, 2018.  

NPF sit-in protest 14th day today

Kohima, November 8 (MExN): The 14th day of the sit-in protest organized by NPF Central Youth Wing will start at 11:00 am on November 9. NPF working president Apong Pongener and DAN chairman Kuzholüzo (Azo) Nienu will address the gathering.

ENSU, BCK supports ENCSU

Kohima, November 8 (MExN): The Eastern Naga Students’ Union (ENSU), Baptist College, Kohima (BCK) has extended support to Eastern Nagaland College Students’ Union (ENCSU) for ongoing phase wise protest against the failure of Department of Higher Education to release scholarship in full amount. “Delaying in disbursement of scholarship is the fault of state government authority by not producing utilisation certificate on time to the central ministry,” asserted a statement from ENSU, BCK president, Shomwang Wangnao and vice president, Akumse K Sangtam. The union further urged the authority concerned “not to test the patience of the students” while stating the students should not be deprived of their rights.  

DC Mon notifies on e-roll

Mon, November 8 (MExN): Deputy Commissioner & District Election Officer, Mon, W. Honje Konyak has in a notification informed that the Election Commission of India has extended the period for filing claims and objections to November 30, for maximization of registration, improving the fidelity of electoral rolls, and to provide better electoral services. A special drive of house to house visit by Booth Level Officers will be conducted during the period from November 15 to 30, stated the notification.  

Tenyimi Union Jalukie informs

Jalukie, November 8 (MExN): Tenyimi Union Jalukie president, Suloni Semy has informed all the executive members, advisors, and tribe representatives of the union to be positively present at the union’s hall for the 42nd Foundation Day cum kitchen inauguration on November 18.  

New Anganwadi building in Khar

Mokokchung, November 8 (DIPR): Newly constructed Anganwadi building at Chitu Centre in Khar Village was inaugurated on November 6 by the District Welfare Officer, Mokokchung, Bendangkokba. The building was constructed under Convergence Programme of Social Welfare Department and Rural Development Department. Short speeches were delivered by Chairman, Khar Village Council and District Welfare Officer, Mokokchung. Dedicatory prayer was pronounced by Associate Pastor Women, Rev. T. Alemla Walling.
