TSUD supports agitation at Secretariat

Dimapur, November 17 (MExN): Tenyimi Students’ Union Dimapur (TSUD) has expressed support to the ongoing peaceful protest and agitation under the banner of Public Coordination Committee (PCC) at New Secretariat junction, demanding to implement the Nagaland Lokayukta and revoke the decision to scrap class III posts from the purview of Nagaland Public Service Commission (NPSC). TSUD president, Azo Wetsah and general secretary, A. Shyerhunlo Lorin, in a press release appealed to the cabinet to review its decision on the class III posts and also to implement the Nagaland Lokayukta at the earliest, “failing which the TSUD will take strong stern action.” The union also appealed to all the right thinking citizens and organizations to support the ongoing PCC agitation.  

Assam Rifles apprehend FGN cadres

Mon, November 17 (MExN): 35 Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (North) apprehended two FGN cadres in Mon Town on November 15. The two have been identified as Chongngam Konyak (39) and Nokmok Konyak (41), a press release from The recovery included one 9mm pistol with live ammunition and 25 extortion slips. Individuals along with recovered items have been handed over to Police Station, Mon for further investigation.  

BJP Kohima discredits statement

Kohima, November 17 (MExN): In response to the news item on BJP Kohima officials resigning from the party and joining Neiphiu Rio, Kohima district BJP has said that Khrizovolie Kesiyie and Seyiekhrielie Nagi were expelled from the post of Kohima district BJP president and general secretary respectively with effect from October 21, 2017 for their “anti-party activities.” On the recommendation of the Disciplinary Action Committee, the State BJP President expelled them from the BJP, said a press release from president of Kohima district BJP, Khrielie Usou. The expulsion order was endorsed to all National BJP leaders, it added. The Kohima district BJP therefore discredited their statement which appeared in the local dailies on November 14, 2017.
