NFTA 20th general session today
Kohima, April 19 (MExN): The Nagaland Fisheries Technical Association (NFTA) will hold its 20th general session on April 20 at 10:30 AM at the Conference Hall of DUDA Guest House, Kohima. Short speeches will be delivered by Kevisa Kense, director of fisheries and Yhunsenlo Kent.
NPF party rally at Mon today
Kohima, April 19 (MExN): The NPF Party Rally of Mon Division will be held on April 20 at Council Hall, Mon Town Chief minister T. R Zeliang and home minister Y. Patton will address the rally as the chief guest and guest of honour respectively. Minister for rural development & REPA CL John and MLA Noke Wangnao will deliver short speeches. Vice President NPF Nagaland, I/C Mon district, Lepshi Ao will chair the programme while welcome speech will be delivered by NPF Mon Division president Yanlong. Vote of thanks will be tendered by DUDA advisor N. Thongwang.
VHC warns livestock farmers of HS disease
Dimapur, April 19 (MExN): The Director of Veterinary and AH Nagaland R. Thungchamo Ezung has requested all livestock farmers to be vigilant on livestock exhibiting cases of Haemorrhagic Septicaemia (HS). This disease is caused by Pasteurella multocida bacteria with symptoms resulting in high fever, salivation, off-feed, swollen neck on livestock. It is highly contagious in nature causing high morbidity and mortality in case of buffaloes and Cattle resulting in 80% mortality in untreated cases causing huge economic losses. Farmers are requested to get their animals vaccinated from the nearest Veterinary Health Centres (VHC). Any suspected cases are to be reported to the Department immediately and restrict livestock movement.
