NNC/PGN appeals
Dimapur, April 20 (MExN): The NNC/ People's Government of Nagaland (NNC/PGN) has appealed to “Brothers in Arms” to restrain from unwanted incident and rather understand the position of Naga political arena. “Let’s remind ourself or question ourself where we're or where we're heading off, it doesn't matter how strong or small, we are just a part of nation builders,” stated a press statement issued by MIP, NNC/PGN.
DUCCF Executive Meeting
Dimapur, April 20 (MExN): Dimapur Urban Council Chairmen Federation (DUCCF) executive will have an emergency meeting on April 22 at Forest Colony chairman's residence at 4:00 pm.
ENPU Chumukedima informs
Dimapur, April 20 (MExN): The 16th general session-cum-meeting of the Eastern Nagaland People's Union (ENPU) Chumukedima will be held on April 23 at CTC Hall at 10:00 am. Power Minister Kipili Santam will attend the occasion as chief guest and President, ENPO S. Khoiwang Konyak as guest of honour. Therefore, all bonafide members of the ENPUC, public leaders, officers and well wishers have been requested to attend the programme.
Duncan Bosti mass social work on April 23
Dimapur, April20 (MExN): Duncan Bosti Council, Dimapur in a press release has informed all the residents of Duncan Bosti that there will be a mass social work on April 23 from 6:00 am to 9:00 am. All the residents including business establishments under Duncan Bosti have been directed to clean their surroundings, especially the public road sides and drainages. The council further directed all the shops/business establishments to remain closed from 6:00 am to 9:00 am on that day, failing which, the Council will take actions against the defaulters.
North Block-3 Panchayat expels
Kohima, April 20 (MExN): North Block-3 Panchayat has expelled Veketho-o Yhopu from the jurisdiction of the North Block Panchayat indefinitely for violation of the rules of the North Block-3 Panchayat, Kohima. Therefore, in a press release the Panchayat proclaimed that the North Block Panchayat shall take no responsibility for any untoward incident created by his intrusion into the jurisdiction of the Panchayat. He shall be doing so at his own risk, it stated.
Tobacco control workshop
Kohima, April 20 (DIPR): With the approval of the Chief Secretary, Nagaland, Department of Health & family Welfare has convened an advocacy workshop program on tobacco control for Departmental Enforcement Officers on April 26 at the Directorate of H&FW conference hall with a view to bring about effective and measurable results in controlling one of the State's biggest health factor - tobacco. With special focus on enforcement laws, legal & health related subjects, the workshop will be a prime step for progressive change in controlling the health hazard. The Department of H&FW has invited one responsible middle rank officer from each Department to participate in the workshop and become the authorized Departmental Enforcement Officer in their respective establishment to supervise the violation of Tobacco Control Act (COTPA 2003). The inaugural function will be graced by Pankaj Kumar, Chief Secretary, Government of Nagaland.
BJP State VP holds meeting in Mon
Dimapur, April 20 (MExN): BJP State Vice President and Mon District In-charge Imsu Yaden held a meeting with Mon district BJP executives along with the Mandals on April 13 at Council Hall, Mon Town. Yaden exhorted the party workers to uplift the party’s principle and strengthen the party and take initiatives in bringing maximum developments for the welfare of the society. He stressed on having timely reviews for any non functioning units, Mandals and district executives and advised the district executives to consult the District In-Charge and State office for any discrepancies or alteration in the party. The BJP State Vice President also advised the executives to have mutual understandings among themselves and be truthful and committed in every aspect and to cooperate with the elected legislators of the district for any developmental activities.
