Truck accident near Phek village   Our Correspondent Kohima | July 18 A truck loaded with essential commodities met with an accident near Phek village last night around 8:30 pm. The truck fell down some 200 feet below the road. It is reported that the truck bearing registration number NL-08A 2282 coming from Dimapur sank in a landslide area. No casualty has been reported.     NSCN (IM) condemns AR’s abduction of cadre Dimapur, July 18 (MExN): The NSCN (IM) has condemned the act of the 5th Assam Riffles in “illegally” abducting Aloto A. Sumi, Razau Peyu, NSCN (IM) Sumi Region on July 18 at 3:00 am. A press release from MIP, NSCN (IM) alleged that the 5th Assam Riffle forcibly made Aloto sign that he belongs to NSCN (Khaplang). Terming the act “strange,” the release noted that this was the fourth such incident where NSCN (IM) cadres were abducted by 5th Assam Rifles and forcibly made to sign as belonging to NSCN (K) group. The NSCN (IM) asserted it can “no longer tolerate such provocations and humiliations devoid of ceasefire agreed ground rules.” It warned the 5th Assam Riffles to immediately release Aloto A. Sumi and not repeat such act in future “or else the NSCN shall be compelled to react as deem fit.”     Chaplee Affairs informs Joint Secretary, Chaplee Affairs of NSCN (IM), Mahai Raikhan has informed all the prospective contractors of FSD/CWC, Dimapur to FSD Sangaiprou, Manipur & FSD/ CWC, Dimapur to Ukhrul Godown that it will require prior concurrence from the competent authority before applying and competing tenders for the year 2016-2018. “Therefore, no firm shall participate for tender on the above mentioned areas without the approval from the competent authority,” stated a press release issued by Mahai Raikhan.     CSD crackdown on ‘illegal sexual indulgence’ The Crime Suppression Department (CSD) of the NSCN (IM) in a press release informed that in an effort to check “immoral activities”, it conducted a series of raids during the past 6 months in and around Dimapur. During the raids, the release stated, it busted several “hotels/lounges”, which were found using young local girls (students) for the promotion of “illegal sexual indulgence.” It further stated in other raids conducted at “isolated places” several young persons were found in “objectionable positions.” A total of 23 male and 23 females were nabbed red-handed during the raids, it added.  

    Kohima Police arrest NSCN (R) cadre Kohima, July 18 (MExN): The mobile unit of DEF Kohima apprehended one NSCN (R) cadre identified as Sgt. Major Ato Kips (19) at South Point marker here on July 18. The cadre was apprehended following an information that some unknown persons were demanding Rs. 6000/- as annual tax of NSCN (R) at South Point market, Kohima, according to a press release from SDPO (South) & PRO, Kohima Police. In this connection, a criminal case at Kohima South Case No. 0044/16 U/S 384 IPC R/W 7 NSR’ 62 has been registered against the arressted person for conducting further investigation, the release added.
