Ward-7 Union, Chumu resolves
Dimapur, August 22 (MExN): Ward-7 Union, Chumukedima Town has resolved to fight against “social evil business” like selling of alcohol and illegal drugs within its jurisdiction. Any individual or family found indulging in the same will be “severely dealt” with, stated a press release issued by Ward-7 Union, Chumukedima Town Chairman, Chameti Yaden and General Secretary, Akum Imchen. It was further informed that surprise checking will be carried out at any time without any intimation. Heavy fines will be imposed upon the defaulters initially, which will followed by further action, it added.
New NSCN (R) UT-1 Chairman
Dimapur, August 22 (MExN): The NSCN/ GPRN (Reformation) has informed that LG Sumi it has been appointed as the chairman of the UT-1, Dimapur. He will take the charge of the assignment with immediate effect, the MIP NSCN (R) said in a press note.
FGN discharges one
Dimapur, August 22 (MExN): The Federal Government of Nagaland on August 22 was discharged from the “National service” in violation of Article No. 2 of the Ahza in selling the ban substances namely Opium (Kani), an FGN official informed today. The Dy. C-in-C, Naga Army, FGN in press note informed that Maj. Senti of 28th Bn., 10th Bde., Eastern Command, Naga Army was discharged after of his involvement in the said activity was intimated to the office of Dy. C-in-C in writing and was found authentic.
ANGPTA sub-unit formed in Mangkolemba
Mokokchung, August 22 (MExN): The Primary Teachers under Mangkolemba sub-division held a meeting on August 13 and unanimously decided to form All Nagaland Government Primary Teachers’ Association, Mangkolemba sub-unit to work in coordination with ANGPTA District and Central office for the common welfare of the all Primary Teachers of Nagaland and to safeguard the interest and welfare of the Primary Teachers of Mangkolemba sub-division in particular. A team of office bearers was selected with Lolenba as President, Imkongsungla as General Secretary, and Sakutemjen as Treasurer, informed a press release received here. The newly appointed office bearers have called upon all the Primary Teachers to extend cooperation in the common quest for a better future of all the Primary Teachers in Nagaland.
40 AR organises Medical Camp
Tuensang, August 22 (MExN): In its continuous efforts to reach out to the needy and medically deprived section of the society, the 40 Assam Rifles organised a medical camp at Bumei, Chaklangsho and Manyaksho Villages, in Tuensang District on August 7. According to a press release, paramedical staff of the 40 AR treated 387 patients of the area and also distributed free medicines to the patients. With no hospital in the nearby vicinity, locals of the far flung border area being deprived of medical treatment facilities turned up for treatment, the release stated.
