NSCN (IM) allows some markets to open on Sundays Dimapur, September 10 (MExN): NSCN (IM) has given permission to open the designated markets allotted by the Dimapur Municipal Council (DMC) and “town council” after 12:00 noon on Sundays in Dimapur. However, only perishable items are allowed to be sold, stated a press release from Rangkamong Anar, CAO, UT-1, NSCN (IM). This order, which has been issued as per the request made by Naga Council Dimapur at the co-ordination meeting held on September 10, comes into effect immediately. Meanwhile, the release gave strict order to all the petrol pump owners in and around UT-1 region not to sell adulterated petrol and diesel.     Governor to visit Phek Phek, September 10 (MExN): Governor of Nagaland PB Acharya will visit Phek district on September 12 and 13. Upon his arrival, there will be a civic reception at Town Hall in Phek. A press release from PRO to Governor further informed that Acharya will pay a visit to District Hospital and also conduct meeting with the public, senior citizens, civil societies (NGOs), eminent citizens, district office bearers of BSG, Red Cross and Ex- Servicemen. Later on the first day, the Governor will have meeting with the District Administration and Head of Departments. On the second day, Acharya will visit Lozaphuhu, Phek, and Chizami villages and interact with village elders and public leaders. On his way to Phek, Governor will briefly stop at Pfutsero and interact with the public at Baptist Theological College Hall, the release added.     NSCN (R) discharges one Dimapur, September 10 (MExN): The NSCN (Reformation) has discharged one Vino from the national service with immediate effect after he was found collecting tax in the name of other political group, “which is an anti national activities and against the Azha of the government.” In a press release issued by its MIP, NSCN (R) further stated that 2nd Lieut. Kahuto and John belong to GPRN/NSCN, but are collecting tax in the name of NSCN (R) in Kohima. The NSCN/ GPRN (R) asked the GPRN/NSCN government to look into the matter seriously and take stringent action against their members at the earliest.  

  AR apprehend arms peddler Dimapur, September 10 (MExN): Troops of 32 Assam Rifles apprehended one arms peddler in Duncan Basti here on September 4. A press release from Assam Rifles informed that the apprehended person identified as Azan Konyak (25) admitted to his involvement in illegal arms peddling in Dimapur. The troops recovered one .22 mm pistol, three live rounds of .22 mm and 13 live rounds of 7.65 mm. The individual was handed over to West Police Station for further interrogation, it added.
