Alleged arms peddler apprehended Dimapur, October 25 (MExN): Troops of 32 Assam Rifles along with police representatives recovered one country made .32 pistol (registration number 021003PT) along with one magazine from a house in Burma Camp here and apprehended one person on October 22. The operation was launched based on specific information regarding illegal arms dealing in Burma Camp, a press release from Assam Rifles said. The apprehended person identified as Aboto Sema (25) was involved in illegal arms peddling, it further alleged. He was handed over to East Police Station Dimapur along with the recovered items.     Inter-Departmental Sports Meet in Dimapur Dimapur, October 25 (MExN): All heads of departments/offices along with staffs under Dimapur district have been directed to compulsorily attend the inaugural programme of the 2nd Inter-Departmental Sports Meet on October 27, 10:00 am at the Multi Disciplinary Sports Complex (MDSC). A press release from Deputy Commissioner of Dimapur, Kesonyu Yhome further requested all the departments to bring their respective flags.     Home Commissioner cautions parking violators Kohima, October 25 (DIPR): Nagaland Home Commissioner, Abhijit Sinha (IAS) has advised all the officers/vehicle owners and drivers not to park their vehicles on the footpath inside the Civil Secretariat premises. Failing to comply with the advisory, the car passes issued for the vehicles may be cancelled. The Home Commissioner through an office memorandum stated that on several occasions, vehicles are being parked on the footpath of the Nagaland Civil Secretariat Parking area which not only damage the footpath but also cause immense inconveniences.     Special SBM Ambassador appointed for Phek Phek, October 25 (DIPR): Governor of Nagaland, PB Acharya has appointed Sukho Movi of Zhavame village under Phek district as Special Ambassador for Swachh Bharat Mission (SBM) for Phek district. This recognition has been extended for his innovative idea to build retaining walls with scrap tyres to control soil erosion. He will work in collaboration with Vizopal Chaya, who is the Brand Ambassador (SBM) for Phek district.
