
EDSSU demands cancellation of ‘backdoor’ appointments in LR&S dept Dimapur, October 26 (MExN): East Dimapur Sumi Students’ Union (EDSSU) has asked the Department of Land Records & Survey to cancel the appointments of four LRSO and eight Surveyor Grade-I within ten days. In a press statement, EDSSU general secretary, Tovi Achumi and president, Kanato S Awomi stated that the mentioned posts fall under the preview of NPSC, but the recruitments were done through “backdoor”. Failing to cancel the appointments will invite locking of the Department’s directorate office and training centre located at Purana Bazaar, Dimapur with agitation, EDSSU cautioned. Sainik School prospectus issued Dimapur, October 26 (MExN): The District Education Officer (DEO), Dimapur has informed that the Sainik School prospectus is being issued from the DEO office. Interested persons can collect the form during office hours. WCYO condemns killing of minor Dimapur, October 26 (MExN): The Western Chakhesang Youth Organisation (WCYO) has expressed shock at the murder of a minor and condemned the same. One person identified as Wede Thele has been arrested on charges of killing the minor, informed a press release from Shelepa Rhakho, president and Lhikhro Kreo, secretary of WCYO. Asserting that no one has the right to take life, WCYO said such violent act cannot exist in a civilised society and need condemnation by all. It further urged the law enforcing agency to expedite the investigation and deliver justice as per the law of the land. Meanwhile, it expressed condolences to the victim’s family and prayed that God grant solace. Special revision of DMC electoral roll Dimapur, October 26 (MExN): ADC & ERO, Dimapur Municipal Council (DMC), Elizabeth Ngully has notified the schedule for special revision of DMC electoral roll with reference to January 1, 2017 as the qualifying date as follows: Draft publication of electoral roll – October 31, 2016; Period for lodging claims & objections – November 1 to 10, 2016; Period for disposal of claims & objections – November 11 to 17, 2016; Period for filing appeal to the respective appellate authority – November 18 to 22, 2016; Disposal of claims & objections by the appellate authority – November 23 to 25, 2016; Preparation of list of amendment after the decision of appellate authority – November 26 to 28, 2016; Final publication of electoral roll – November 29, 2016. Any person can check the draft roll at the notice board of the office of the Deputy Commissioner, Dimapur and office of the Dimapur Municipal Council from October 31, 2016. BJP Kiphire resolves Kiphire, October 26 (MExN): The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Kiphire district has resolved that no individual/member shall take up any issue/matter with the higher authority without the knowledge or prior consent of the district party office. The resolution, which was made on October 25 at the party district executive meeting here, stated that failing to comply with the directive, disciplinary action will be initiated as enshrined in the (Article xxv) of the party constitution and rules without bias. Special outreach camp held at Tsiepfutsiepfhe Colony Kohima, October 26 (MExN): A special outreach camp was conducted at Tsiepfutsiepfhe (AG) Colony Ward No 15, Kohima by the medical staffs of Urban Primary Health Centre Seikhazou Kohima on October 22. Around 150 people were examined and treated for free and given free medicines, informed a press release from Tsiepfutsiepfhe (AG) Colony chairman, Akhreo-o Sorhie and secretary, Zenohol Kikhi. On behalf of the colony, they thanked the medical officers and staff of Urban PHC Seikhazou Kohima for their humanitarian work and hoped they continue to extend their charitable works in the future too.
